I’ve had the privilege of working with Mark in numerous settings. I cannot speak highly enough about Mark as I consider him one of today’s most gifted Christian song writers. His character, integrity, creativity, professionalism, and ability to truly lead God’s people in passionate worship is second to none. I have been privileged to be part of three Mark Pope directed choirs. A Traditional choir, a Contemporary choir, and a Handbell choir.  Just choir practice has been a spiritual and worship experience.  Regardless of skill level, Mark knows how to utilize musical talents to the maximum benefit of the entire choir or congregation.  Mark works with the choir to deliver a beautiful, balanced sound...and to top it off, you have fun in the process.  It is exciting when you are being directed by Mark while singing one of his compositions.  I know any choir and church congregation will be blessed by a Mark Pope led worship experience.

Instrumental Music

I just sat down to sight read your score with the accompaniment CD just that I got in the mail on Monday.  I had to stop half way through the reading because your beautiful music made me cry really hard!!  What an unbelievable gift from God I've received by your music!  It feels like my reward for all those months of trials, like the rainbow in the story of Noah's Ark, after the rains have passed, and the waters receded.  The music is flowing and lyrical, and while it's a bit high, it's not at all hard for me to play.  The notes just kind of roll off my lips, and down and out through my bell.

We are CRAZY about Dawn of Peace! We played it last spring at several venues. Do you have any other flute choir pieces we should know about? Keep it coming!!!  Slippery Rock University Flute Choir played Dawn of Peace and that's where we first heard it. Gorgeous!

I LOVE Dawn of Peace and it was a favorite of my students when we did it.  I also used it when I conducted the NFA National High School Flute Choir when the convention was in Pittsburgh.  I am a pacifist at heart and thought it spoke so well to a longing for us all to live in harmony.  What else have you done for flute/flute choir?

Handbell Workshops
